Apple and Biscuit Records was founded by Alex Barnes in 2006. Alex studied at the Royal Academy of Music and Chetham’s School of Music as a cellist, and learned about making recording from working with his father, a BBC Sound Engineer.
Apple and Biscuit Recordings offer location recordings of live concerts and sessions, post-production, editing and mastering.
Apple and Biscuit have recorded in most of the major venues for classical music in the UK, including the Queen Elizabeth Hall, Bridgewater Hall, Wigmore Hall, St Martin-in-the-fields, St John’s Smith Square, St George’s Bristol to name but a few.
We have also had the pleasure of recording some of the finest ensembles, soloists, chamber groups and choirs in the world, including The London Oratory School, The Symphonic Brass of London, Zsolt-Tihamér Visontay, Min-Jung Kym, Simon Callaghan, Felix Schmidt, Solomon’s Knot, Liquid Architecture, The Marsyas Trio, Young Musician’s Symphony Orchestra, University of London Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra of St Paul’s, New Century Baroque, International Baroque Players, Basiliensis, Corinthian Chamber Orchestra, and many more!
