From ‘Polish Music Day at the Wigmore Hall with Jennifer Pike and Friends’ on October 14th 2017. Krzysztof Penderecki (b.1933) – Capriccio for solo violin (UK premi√®re) Jennifer Pike explored her artistic roots in a series of three concerts in one day devoted to music from four centuries of Poland‚Äôs cultural history. The day featured everything from Italian-influenced works from the early 1600s to a UK premi√®re of a work by Krzysztof Penderecki and a world premi√®re by Paulina ZaŇāubska.

Hamish Ogston

In November 2017, Hamish Ogston made a donation to Liverpool Cathedral for¬†refurbishment of its prized Grand Organ, the largest in the UK. To celebrate¬†a¬†service was held, on November 15, 2017, featuring specially-commissioned music ‚Äď including a trumpet fanfare written by BAFTA and Emmy Award-winning composer George Fenton and the inflation of Hamish Ogston‚Äôs hot air balloon inside the Cathedral‚Äôs 174ft (53m) Main Space.
